# Argus glossary: terms you'll see in reports and on the map
## An alphabetical list of the correct names, spellings and short definitions for Argus Tracking product terms, from Advanced View to Vision AI FaceID.
This glossary gives the correct name, spelling and a short, plain definition for terms used across Argus Tracking and its help articles. It covers definitions only, not feature behaviour or pricing, and it is the tie-breaker for naming across the knowledge base. Terms are listed alphabetically.

## Advanced View
The default live-tracking map view in Spectate. Advanced View is the default view for all accounts; **Classic View** is still available if you prefer it.
## Asset Register
The Argus feature that holds your fleet-wide list of assets (vehicles and equipment) as stock records.
## Check Sheet
Argus's inspection and form-builder feature, used for digital vehicle and equipment inspections. Always written as two words, not "Checksheet".
## Classic View
An older live-tracking map view in Spectate, still available alongside the default Advanced View.
## Detailed View
One of the live-tracking map view modes in Spectate.
## Device Management
The Settings page covering GPS hardware ordering, install and removal workflows.
## eRUC / Smart eRUC
The electronic form of Road User Charges (RUC), handled through Argus's Smart eRUC feature.
## FleetHub
Argus's vehicle and pool-booking product. Write in full as "Argus FleetHub" on first mention in an article, then "FleetHub" afterwards.
## Fuel Watch
Argus's feature for fuel-card spend tracking and fuel reporting.
## Hubodometer
The hub-mounted distance-reading device used for RUC billing on heavy vehicles. It is tracked as a separate field from the vehicle's odometer. Never use "odometer" and "hubodometer" interchangeably — they measure different things, and RUC compliance depends on the correct one.
## iButton
A Driver ID hardware tag type (written with a lowercase "i" and capital "B"), used alongside RFID.
## NSLR (National Speed Limit Register)
The New Zealand Transport Agency's authoritative record of the posted speed limit that applies at a given location. Argus evaluates overspeed events and alerts against the NSLR. Updates are generally pushed from NZTA to Argus on a weekly cycle, typically on a Sunday — this is a general cadence, not a guaranteed schedule. The register is not necessarily complete or error-free.
## NZTA
New Zealand Transport Agency. Write in full as "New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA)" on first mention in an article, then "NZTA" afterwards.
## Off-Road Geofence
The RUC-rebate-linked geofence class. Written with a hyphen in body text; the in-product navigation label is "Offroad Geofence" (no hyphen) — quote it exactly when giving a click path.
## RFID
A Driver ID hardware tag type, used alongside iButton.
## Risk Point Manager
The Settings page used to view and remove risk point queries against your assets and drivers.
## Route Optimisation
Argus's runsheet and route-planning feature. Written with the NZ spelling "Optimisation", not "Optimization".
## RUC (Road User Charges)
The New Zealand regulatory scheme for road-use compliance on diesel and other RUC-liable vehicles. Write in full as "Road User Charges (RUC)" on first mention in an article.
## RUC Collect
Argus's feature for creating, claiming and viewing RUC licence history.
## Seat Shaker
The Vision AI haptic-feedback hardware accessory that vibrates the driver's seat alongside a Vision AI alert.
## Site Report
The Argus report of asset visits to a specified address and radius.
## Smart Hubo
Argus's feature name covering Smart Hubodometer-related compliance functionality.
## Smart Renew
Argus's feature for automated RUC and Rego renewal and purchasing.
## Smart View
One of the live-tracking map view modes in Spectate.
## Spectate
The Argus live-tracking map, with several view modes: Smart View, Detailed View, Advanced View, Classic View and Travel History.
## Travel History
One of the view modes available from Spectate, showing where an asset has previously travelled.
## Vision AI
Argus's AI dashcam product line. Write as "Vision AI" in body text, not "VISION AI" or "VisionAI" — some plan and marketing titles still use the all-capitals form.
## Vision AI FaceID
The facial-recognition driver-identification capability for Vision AI-equipped vehicles, also written as "FaceID".
