# How do I apply a cost centre to an asset?
## Enter your cost centre code in the Cost Centre field on an asset's Profile page and save — it also becomes an Asset Register column.
Open the asset's **Profile** from My Assets, enter your code in the **Cost Centre** box, and select **Save**. This tags the asset for cost-centre reporting on your account.

## What you need before you start
- Access to the asset's Profile page in My Assets.
- The cost centre code you want to apply.
## How do I apply a cost centre to an asset?
1. Select **My Assets** from the side menu.
2. Select the blue **Profile** button below the asset you want to update.
3. Enter your code into the **Cost Centre** box.
4. Select the blue **SAVE** button.
## How do I know it worked?
The code you entered stays visible in the Cost Centre field on the profile, and Cost Centre becomes available as a configurable column in the [Asset Register](https://help.argustracking.co.nz/knowledge-base/what-is-the-asset-register?hsLang=en-au), so you can review it fleet-wide as well as per asset.
## What if it doesn't work?
- **You want cost centre data on your invoice:** a CSV version of your invoice showing cost centre data can be supplied on request — this isn't turned on automatically, so email [support@argustracking.com](mailto:support@argustracking.com) to set it up.
- **The Cost Centre field is missing on a profile:** [contact Argus support](https://support.argustracking.com/new-request).
