# How do I reset my password
## Select Recover it here on the Argus login page and follow the emailed link to set a new password, or change it from Settings \> Account Settings while signed in.
If you've forgotten your Argus password, select **Recover it here** on the login page and follow the emailed link to set a new one. If you're already signed in and just want to change your password, do that from Settings \> Account Settings instead.

## How do I reset a forgotten password?
1. On the [login page](https://geo.argustracking.nz/Account/Login?ReturnUrl=%2fDashboard), next to "Forgot your password", select **Recover it here**.
2. Enter your email address to have a temporary password link sent to you.
3. Open the email and select the red **Set up now** button.
4. On the page that opens, enter your preferred password in both the **Password** and **Confirm Password** fields, then select the red **Save changes** button.
5. Once your password is set, select the link back to the login page and sign in using your email address and new password.
## How do I change my password once I'm signed in?
1. Select **Settings** from the side menu.
2. Select **Account Settings**.
3. Choose the **Change Password** tab.
4. Enter your current password, then enter and repeat your new password in the fields provided.
5. Select the blue **Save** button.
## How do I know it worked?
After saving a new password, you'll see a confirmation page or message, and you can sign in immediately with the new password.
## What if it doesn't work?
- **The reset email hasn't arrived:** check your spam or junk folder, and confirm you entered the same email address your Argus account uses.
- **The new password isn't accepted:** check the Password and Confirm Password fields match exactly, and that the password meets Argus's password security requirements.
- **The Set up now link has expired:** return to the login page and select **Recover it here** again to request a new link.
