# What is Spectate Advanced View?
## Advanced View is the default Spectate map layout, built for a bigger map and faster access to vehicle details; Classic View is still available.
Advanced View is the default map view in Spectate. It's built around a larger map and quicker access to vehicle details than Classic View, which is still available if you prefer the earlier layout.

## What does Advanced View do?
Advanced View is Spectate's map screen for watching your fleet in real time. It shows your assets on a map alongside a list of vehicles down the side, and lets you open a vehicle's details, history and status without leaving the page.
## How does Advanced View differ from Classic View?
Advanced View gives more of the screen to the map itself, so there's no separate scroll bar for the main window — you zoom in and out with the mouse wheel instead of using Ctrl plus the scroll bar. Vehicles are listed down the side of the map, so you can open asset information such as driver, geofence and odometer details with a click, rather than scrolling down a separate list. The map and satellite view switch buttons sit in the bottom-right corner of the map.
## Who uses Advanced View, and when would I use it?
Advanced View suits day-to-day fleet monitoring where you want a bigger map and faster access to individual vehicle details. Some customers still use Classic View if it matches how their team already works, or if they prefer the earlier layout — both are available from the same toggle.
## How do I get started with Advanced View?
Open Spectate from the side menu. Use the **Advanced View** button on the map toolbar to switch between Classic View and Advanced View. Select the vehicle you want to spectate or follow from the asset list down the side, then click **Options** to open additional display preferences. Click on a vehicle in the sidebar to jump the map to its location and open a pop-up with its details; click **History** on a vehicle to see summarised stats and events for that vehicle for the day.
