What does the Environmental Policy cover?
Argus Tracking recognises a responsibility to the environment beyond simply meeting legal and regulatory requirements, and believes in using technology to increase energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact — for our own operations, our customers', and our suppliers'. The Argus platform itself includes features that help customers reduce their own environmental impact, from fuel savings and emissions calculations to utilisation reporting that can help assess whether part of a fleet could move to electric vehicles.
What does Argus commit to?
Argus Tracking aims to comply with and exceed relevant regulatory requirements, continually improve and monitor environmental performance, reduce environmental impacts, incorporate environmental factors into business decisions, and increase staff awareness and training.
How does this apply to Argus's fleet and hardware?
Argus uses technology to manage and monitor its own fleet and ensure it's used efficiently, chooses vehicles with lower fuel consumption and emissions, and maintains its fleet regularly. Argus also takes responsibility for the hardware it supplies, reclaiming and recycling hardware at the end of its life.
How does Argus handle plastics, e-waste and paper?
Argus removed new single-use plastics from outgoing deliveries, now uses compostable courier bags and recycled bubble wrap, and recycles both hard and soft plastics through a dedicated collection bin. An e-waste recycling scheme recovers valuable metals from electronic waste. Argus buys carbon-neutral, sustainably sourced printer paper, minimises paper use in the office, and works with global suppliers on bulk packaging to reduce shipping volumes.
How does Argus manage energy, water and travel?
Argus selected an electricity provider that generates power only from renewable sources, uses rechargeable batteries where possible, automates lighting and heating with sensors, timers and smart thermostats, and takes energy efficiency into account when procuring goods. Staff travel is limited to necessary trips, with video and phone conferencing used as alternatives where possible.
