How do I set up Fuel Watch for my fuel card?

Authorise Fuel Watch with your fuel card provider once it is enabled on your account; the steps differ for BP/Cardlink/Waitomo/UBT, Mobil/Fleetcor and Z Energy/Caltex/Challenge.

Fuel Watch is included on the OMNI plan and available as an add-on to the MIDI plan. Once enabled, you authorise your fuel card provider to send transaction data to Argus, and the steps depend on which fuel card you use.

What you need before you start

  • Fuel Watch enabled on your account — contact your account manager to enable it if you haven't already.
  • An active fuel card with one of the providers below.

How do I set up Fuel Watch for BP, Cardlink, Waitomo or UBT fuel cards?

  1. Log in to your fuel card supplier's website, or contact them directly.
  2. Set up an automated Transaction Report in CSV format.
  3. Check the format of the Transaction Report matches Argus's example CSV format for your provider — ask Argus support if you need the current example file.
  4. Once the format is confirmed, set the automated report to send to Argus's Fuel Watch email address, fuelwatch@argustracking.com, as regularly as possible. Each email can only have one attachment.

How do I set up Fuel Watch for Mobil or Fleetcor fuel cards?

  1. Contact your Mobil or Fleetcor Business Manager, or the Mobilcard Support Centre.
  2. Ask them to set up the Automated Daily Telematics Fuel Card Transaction Report, directed to fuelwatch@argustracking.com.

How do I set up Fuel Watch for Z Energy, Caltex or Challenge fuel cards?

  1. Call Z Energy on 0800 Z ENERGY (0800 936 374).
  2. Quote your Z Energy account number and request to be added to the Argus Tracking Telematics Data Feed.

How do I know it worked?

Once your provider starts sending transaction reports, your fuel data begins appearing in the Fuel Watch reports on your Argus Dashboard — this can take a few days for the first automated report to arrive after you set it up.

What if it doesn't work?

If no fuel data has appeared after a reasonable time, check with your fuel card provider that the automated report was actually set up and directed to fuelwatch@argustracking.com, and that each email only carries one attachment. If the format doesn't match Argus's example, the report may be arriving but failing to import — contact Argus support to check.
